i drove by you're place today
first time in a long time.
i dont know why, but i glanced up to see you not there.
i half expected to see you sitting on the porch
drinking a beer,
and listening to the ball game on dumb little transister radio you loved so.
it bothered me when you were not there.
it bothered me even more when i seen other peoples
shit on you're porch.
tears stung my eyes,
but i would not let them fall.
why should i ?
its been almost 2 years since you left us.
you fucked up the last years of the so called life you led.
but you did not deserve for it to end the way it did.
on that last night, were you waiting for me?
did she tell you that i couldnt make it?
did you understand why?
im sorry.
i should have been there, no matter what.
i told you i would be there, and i let you down.
new job, i was trying for my "freash new start".
now you are gone, and so is the job.
i would give anything to be able to go back and just leave work on time
that night.
to sit there with you and talk about that crappy pre-season football game that was on the night before.
that was the plan, yeah?
im sorry.
i should have been there, and i let you down.
i dont visit you're grave often. and when i do, i dont really stay long.
i should make more of an effort to do so.
im sorry.
i should go there more often, and i keep letting you down.

i miss ya' pops.
i love you.
