My Worst Enemy

Swallowed by humility
I can only question myself for a reason to undo,
but the sweet taste of confidence alludes my desperate actions
causing a ripple effect through my emotions...
sometimes leaving me adrift in my own self doubt.
I will hold the candle until it burns up my arm. I'll keep taking punches until their will grows tired. I will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind. I won't change direction and I won't change my mind.

    Sorry for the late response. My husband wrote this in reference to being a step dad. Sometimes it's really hard to know what to do and what not to do.
