A darkening bedroom fights for one last gleam of light
if it only knew all it took was a flick of a switch
but I cant be bothered
because I’m glued to my window
waiting for the sound of the footsteps
that keep me buoyant

I haven’t seen you since I left
and you swore that you would wait
and made me promise not to die
a promise I made
with fingers crossed
and conscience burdened
by the weight of all the things I could not control

as I finally see you a car flashes past behind you
and the slush flung by its tires
seems to freeze in time
suspended in midair
slowly crystallizing
from filth
to purity
framing your face
each drop
a prismatic reflection
of the streetlights
I tried so hard to get away from
and I realize that somehow
you manage to make
the things I hate most in this world
beautiful
"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."
