#4 (Passing bouts of doubt)

So confusion seems to have replaced comprehension
and I’m left doubting things that I once proved to be true.
I can’t remember when we last spoke,
but I know exactly what was said.
walking home, on a Friday night,
it’s 3 am and I’m surrounded by the war cries
and celebratory whoops
of a culture of youth
hurtling as fast as we can in any direction,
just grateful to be moving
because staying in the same place for too long
always induces thought, and doubt.
well I guess I’ve let myself become stationary,
because I’ve come to question just about everything.
contemplations of phone calls, and visits, and nights spent alone
when we were adam and eve,
and we honestly doubted whether we’d ever been thrown out of Paradise.
I memorized every step from my room to yours,
every pot hole, every intersection
holds a story of days and nights when I felt so alive
I feared I would die
but tonight I feel lost.

"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."
