If it depends on me, it ends on me

I cant remember how many times I’ve been told I would change the world.
I don’t even know what I’m doing with my life.
Last time I checked I was a confused 20 year old, struggling with what to eat and who to call.
When did this burden fall on my shoulders?
First time I heard it I was 10, and it was from a teacher
Talk about pressure.
I’ve since doubled my years, and wasted a quarter of my life,
and come no closer to finding humanity’s redemption.
Despite it all I hold on to hope
Beyond all else, I hope
For someone better than me, someone more suited to the challenges I’ve been chosen to face.
I’m up against a wall and I’m comfortable in confined spaces,
As long as I’m free to roam.
No doubt this world is falling,
But I doubt I’m strong enough to catch it alone.
If one man was meant to cure all the world’s ills,
what are the rest of us here for?
To watch?
I may doubt my abilities
But, I’m no spectator
"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."
