falling out of orbit

Thunderclouds loom large and dark,
Friendly, forboding, shouting of darker, more exciting times.
I see myself illuminated then hear my innervoice unleashed on the skies.
And when the Earth shakes I must force myself to believe we haven’t fallen out of orbit.
Say what you will, but the fear of hurtling through space with any less regularity
Is only surpassed by exhilaration.
I find myself hoping it’s happened every time my feet tremble.
Imagine being the only person to ever occupy a unique spot in the continuum,
if only for a moment, before spinning on…
Must be a sign.
Wrong way, Do not enter, something like that.
Well, if it’s spelled out that blatantly
You’d be a fool not to listen,
But when I’m looking within I tend to miss the details
And only notice the Big picture.
Doubling back, retracing steps, déjà vu has never been more familiar,
But progress for progress’ sake seems pointlessly progressive.
Hard to find anything more depressing than the idea of being pointless
And if everything I do has already been done…
Well, the conclusion hasn’t been written yet.
But original thought seems impossible and inevitable,
so at least we’ve got that.

"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."
