40 days of sick dog silence
talking to no one else but me.
40 nights sunk in the darkness
the hole stretched out to eternity.

Holding the hand of God
you held me to the ground.
Kissing the savior’s feet
watching my young ass move around.

I found peace in a razor
I found solace in the night.
Exiting the maze
I slipped into the light.

And I am not you
None of your cancer lives in me
And I am not you
I have scars but I am free.

  • I enjoy Eddie Vedder's lyrical style and approach very much, and can identify with some of the themes. I look forward to participating in this forum.

    Well done...
