in her mind
are
pictures never painted
words never written
dreams never realized
a love never touched
yet
she sees the pictures clearly
as if hanging on a gallery wall
the words are neatly typed and bound
and she reads each page aloud
dancing across the room
her song is strong and pure
the kiss is soft and gentle
as she slowly drifts to sleep
and
they will never know her
no matter how they try
she has all the company she needs
for she has a secret life inside

  • I LOVE IT!!! By no means am I a seasoned poetry reader but I love the form and the one word transitional lines. Everyone can relate to this in some way and that makes it a very great poem. Thank you for inspiring my imagination at the moment.
