Here is where digging graves are done
Broken down workers ground down from grit, disgust, and plague are empty eyed
They are zombie like with missing independent thoughts
Behold the lanterns that sway from the grip of death’s marching clan
As cruelty mangles innocence, nightly wars of hatred cast no moon shadow
Dripping blood trails trials and tribulations seep from no life stained axes, spears, and swords.
Combined are pestilence, rigor-mortis, and four star general smiles
Barbed wire wears like a throttling noose of misdirected vigils
The cold no lit sky brings down red snow stomping slush puddles and barbarism
Commanded are slave driven modern times from days of old that do not ever change
Or do they?
Ask the smiling four star generals of today’s bombs and yesteryears hordes
Forever we have nothing more to give
Or do we?

I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
