he's not in the film; he plays the lead guitar parts for the fictional band, stillwater.
Just last week I was on the top-floor isolation ward of hospital, visited by doctors and nurses in masks, getting injections, fighting retches of bloody sputum, seeing my face turn deathpale in the mirror, staring beyond it at a never ending blackness. They tested me for everything, and thankfully there was no TB, no HIV, no cancer: just this big dead pneumonic hole in my lung and a growth like a tree in bud. As my fever subsided and the IV feed came out of my arm, I heard conversations outside the door: two nurses, talking about three dying patients on the ward in one day. As I recovered, some of the gaze into the blackness stayed with me, and, back home and clinging to this late summer life with antibiotics in my blood, the black hole is still there, forever inside me: a little of me, dead with those patients on that ward last week.
It's not poetry. It's not shiny prose. It is as it is. My thought and my life.
why can't I stop thinking these thoughts that I've been thinking. You'd think the thoughts I'm thinking would be getting old after thinking them for so long. :roll:
