Away light went without a warning.
Inside a whisper of hope a single gasp of air extinguished.
Coal black lives.
All shadows invisible now.
A mind along with the heart hold onto yesterday.
What was once more than each rising dawn and each soft setting sun now blackest devoid.

"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
