With a frog in one pocket
and stones in the other,
you climbed trees like a leaf listening
to birds tweet with your young sky-eyes.

With a stick in hand you walked thru
fields of tulips,
and hill sides covered in daydreams like
a cloud.

Dirty jeans well worn earth soil grass stains.
Long blonde hair ratty and wilder than yourself,
an innocents with the air around you carried
you away like a summer breeze.

"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
