I awake to the sound of the sleepers,
Left alone and unseen.
I stalk the night, become one with darkness,
But spend time alone in eternity.

No one ever notices that I exist.
Do they hate me? Do they not trust me?
Perhaps they fear me?
I long for the feel of another, close to me.

The majestic are defeated by the enemy of all.
At last, I alone have conquered it.
This, my friends, is the dark.
Watch it cower at my call.

But feel me cower as the light burns to me.
Inside I scream but fall again to sleep.
Never to see the waking life,
I awake, only to the sound of the sleepers.

Goodnight...
