And you are right about poetry being like a personal journal.
It's pretty scary to show it to others, but you learn a lot from those lucky ones who get to read it. Not much to teach you though

this one was my way of dealing with an unfortunate upheaval in my life at age 31, when my mother told me my father was really my step-father, so in a way, that song has already been written. but i greatlly appreciate the compliment!

Oh well, the best lyricists and poets have written a thousand times more crap than good stuff, so eventually one pearl must at least show in that pile of crap

I write poetry too, but it's been a while since I've last taken up the pen
