I picked up the phone to call my girl
she answer and knows that i am their
we talk and the air is fine
we talk and all is devine
we talk and she knows that i care
i feel so fine
we talk like we know that we care
we talk like their is love to spare
we talk like the air is to share
but then the cell does die
then all of me just falls in heap
i pick the phone to call my girl
but i get no answer she is not their
and all of me just wants to die
i pick up the phone...........

    Phone calls scare me
    as I let them message
    me and think of thoughts
    perhaps in spite or myth
    I don't answer ever
    my old fling knows...
'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
    and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
    god I'm very, very frightening
    and I'll overdo it'
