For Firefighters Darren Yates-Badley, Ashley Stephens, Ian Reid and John Averis. Even though you are gone my brothers you are not forgotten

When I am called to duty, God
Wherever flames may rage
Give me strength to save a life
Whatever be its age.

Let me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling
To give the best in me,
To guard my friend and neighbor
And protect their property.

And, if, according to your will,
I have to lose my life,
Please bless, with your protecting hand,
My family and my wife.
He who forgets, will be destined to remember.

I wish I was the verb "to trust"
and never let you down.

this was literally 5 minutes down the road from my home in gloucestershire. shocking.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

I am tired; my heart is
    sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
    no more forever."

I live bout 15 miles away from where this happened. My thoughts are with the families of these brave men.....Every firefighter is a hero and this brings home the dangers they face on every job they do.
A human being that was given to fly.
