Turn

After many many months of not having anything to write, let alone not having actually tried to write anything, I submit to you this new song I have just written... I have this tune in my head so I might see if I can guitar this one and record it for all to hear... It's been a long time since I posted but good to see some familiar names still.


always been hard to understand
why you're so patient
to live by my hand
you say what i touch seems to twist
well sometimes that's true
so when the key fits i just

turn, turn, turn...
leaves all the ashes
asleep in the urn
turn, turn, turn...
change your directions
I'll see you returned to me
careful and lovingly
smiling delightfully
reach up and turn the key
turn, turn, turn...

of course it takes time to settle down
so take what you need
to drift peacefully off to sleep
I'll watch over you for the night
won't rest my eyes
til your dreams are in sight
If I could just stay til you wake
but we both know you're dreaming
and its the only thing keeping me here
