why, oh why, will nobody cry
for a heart that loves for two until it dies
reserved
in pieces of the day
they shatter as we pray
while a saviour fell in vain
or a tiger lost it's way
what our love becomes
the earth, the stars, my sun
a heart that shares its love is bound to break
for it holds inside the hate
and I share the love with you

written
in shadows on the floor
invitation to a war
between a heart so strained
upon an oil canvas stained
black & white & grey
all the colours of the day
have drained
