Good Night

roaring leaves in a fresh Marching fire
regrowing afresh to deliver desire
a merchant whistles as he walks through the night
smiling toward no-one with a serpent-like eye
moving away, I can't help but say
yesterday's maze burns tomorrow today

Red man he told me I'd always stand alone
Green man assures it's just fear in my bones
Silhouettes around me
closing in tight
goodbye, goodbye
goodbye to the night

potent dreams in a dead morning slumber
waking to ground, handful of numbers
the merchant smiles and he has it just right
looking toward me with that one serpent eye
moving away, I can't help but say
yesterday's maze burns tomorrow today

Red man he told me I'd come out on top
Green man is pleading for me to just stop
Shadows surround me
closing in tight
goodbye, goodbye
goodbye to the night

Red man he told me I'm better off dead
Green man agreed, he prepared me a bed
I guess I'll lay down
and shut off the light
so goodbye, goodbye
goodbye to the night
"this one, anytime I say love if you wanna say love, uh, say it, and if you say it you might as well say it loud, and if you don't feel like sayin' it, don't say it, but if you feel it, certainly say it..."
