Let's pretend we are two animals,
any two you see.
Let's pretend just for today,
let's play, just you and me.
Let's pretend we are two puppy dogs,
woof woof woof, bark bark bark,
running circles, throughout the yard.
Trying to catch up to our own tail,
chasing the man who brings the mail.
Let's pretend we are two kitty cats,
meow meow, scratch scratch scratch.
Letting out a playful purr,
then out the backdoor, chasing birds.
We may run astray, but not for long,
in two more days, we'll be back home.
Let's pretend we are two green frogs,
leaping lillypads across the pond.
Catching bugs with our tounges,
we'll catch one more, then jump along.
Let's pretend we are two little birds,
singing songs, instead of speaking words.
We'll make a nest, up in the tree,
bring food to our little baby chickatees.
When we're done we'll spread our wings,
and sail up high,
all throughout the clear blue sky.
Let's pretend that we can fly,
let's pretend,
just you and I.
