Little girls tie bunches of flowers
and wish for the day when they
will hear him say, "marry me?"
but Sour Sarah can't find that boy.
She's too busy looking in her mirror
getting her morose thoughts in order
expecting him to walk right in her door
and when he does,
she'll slap him in the face.
He waited too damn long.
All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.
