    I don't know, I reckon you could! :D

But what I want to know is do you really have a burning desire to tase? ;)

I critique people's stuff here sometimes. I've been reading Fin's view on amatuer critics not really having the eye for constructive criticism. I don't think that is entirely true. What is true is that I don't have the wherewithal to submit anything of my own... save for a few drunkin blurbs going back some time ago. So, I just wanted to be clear to anyone who's work I am commenting on, I really don't have a leg to stand on at the level that Fin's speaks of, but I do enjoy some of the poems here, and I usually say so. Even if I can't share any of my own.

Well much and all as I respect Fin's pov, I think you either like something or you don't, and people can take what they will from critics, so I've got no problem hearing people's criticism. And whenever I've posted anything here in the poetry forum people have been really constructive and encouraging which is all you could want really. :)
You should just have a go gue and you should certainly continue to comment on things that you like or dislike. :)
    NOPE!!!

And to be fair to Finsbury, lest he catches some kind of guilt from what I've stated, that his academia is some sort of brow-beating to mine and anyone else's abilities... I think quite a bit of the stuff he submits here is cryptic name-dropping shite made for the bookish academic that he is. I do comment on the stuff that he writes that does have some interest to me, in an elemental sense.

  • i need years of school to understand it!

fins has engaged many people in literary theory, here. but my opinion hasn't changed...

"good" is that piece that makes me go "wow"... let the theorists take it apart bolt by nut... i'll either enjoy it or move on...

I listened to No Code last night and the lyrics used to make me go "wow". Now I understand all those concepts like a parent understands a child struggling to figure things out. So, now the music and the vocal phrasing delights me. The words are no longer profound.

    "Transcendend, not condescend..."

I used to think Ed said "knock on sand"...

I've never really seen him pick anybody's stuff apart. When asked, I've seen him give some good direction.

We gotta have a few beers together someday.
    Maybe some shrooms, too.

    Aye.

I'm just an ole hippie, really. I only bark at people if I feel they deserve it. Most of the time, I don't give a sheet, and like to help if I can.

I think you're an admirable artist and a brilliant soul. My only ulterior motive for saying such a thing would be the afforementioned get-together. My best idea for a poem lately concerns what that might be like. It's mostly comedic. In a good, hallucinogenic way.
