Waves

Here I am by the waters at the lake
Empty waters for God's sake
Deep and shadowed a deeper blue
Memories of life shine on through
Of souls who sat so long ago
To also watch the water flow
Just as I do late at night
It brings a feeling that makes all right
The water, it waits just like me
To see just what next will be
But oh, the waves that quake alive
Come on with a heavy drive
Influencing the waters it surrounds
All the ups and all the downs
Such a force so very strong
Echoeing the water's own love song
Unlike I, who sit and wait
For a chance at Heaven's gate
If I were the wave riding high
I could go for it and reach the sky
And I shall take it with me to my grave
My God, I wish I were the wave.

  • Writersu, I love the water too
    I love the liquid
    I love the coolness
    when you jump in it

    It's refeshing to the soul
when you get in the rising water
and if got a board or a kite
    to glide along it's surface
    lake sled in the snow

    and let the wave
    take you
    where it wants you to

    especially when it's high tide
and the pull of the moon
against the push of the earth
    making the water ride high
as the attraction of celestial bodiess from the sky
creates the motion of the ocean
and splashes water across the cliffs and rocks
melting time as the rocks are crushed to sand
pebbles, like the waves of water, the moon, the sun
    reflection, perceptions, of our mind
    making a

Yeah......awesome insights;truly. I can tell you love the water.

The coolest water image I've ever seen is in the Florida Keys when I was at the beach at night, sitting there watching the dark water, with (like you said) the moon shining the light down; the only light there is out there and the waves just moving crashing further and further on the sand where just a few hours earlier kids made sandcastles and people laid in the sun. The high tide overpowered it all. ( I know I will live in Key West one day......)
I am mysteriously afraid of the water especially at night because it so tells us that we arrogant humans may think we are so "all that" (I hope never to be arrogant but just being human makes me somewhat that I guess) but the water just laughs and says we are so not..............you know???

  • I love the flow of your poem. It reads like an ocean wave~
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
    but memories...they eat me
    I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.
