See this here, is why I don't usually blog, post or email anything substantial to anyone, anywhere - When I get started, the result is almost always a novel...
Will do the next time I'm down your way.0 -

Yeah, by the time I got to Rod Laver I was willing to take whatever I could get for it. I think he asked up how much, but I can't remember if we had a chance to reply before he whipped out his badge. I gave him my sob story (including the first round of chucking I'd just done), and he let us off with a warning. Apparently over in Melbourne you can't sell your tickets outside the venue, whatever the price.Wellington 26/2/98

Can't say I recall. I was in my red general electric T-shirt. Probably bumped into eachother in the pit...
I'm really glad you could make it down for the gig though, you definitely deserved to be there!Wellington 26/2/98

Ugh. Don't you hate it when you write a great message but then something stuffs up and you whole thing disapears? This version will be less charismatic. I can feeel it.
Yeah I saw someone at the Wgtn Shihadatsun show in a PJ tour shirt from Argentina 2005. Tall guy with glasses. Rep-re-sent!
Anyway, that was a great show, but then it always is when Shihad plays the Town Hall. Afterwards I discovered some funky coloured bruises on my legs that I don't remember receiving but hey, that's just what happens when your thumping around with the boys (I grew up with brothers. Can you tell?). I can't understand those people who go to a rock show and just stand at the back of the room. Egh, what a waste of 50 bucks.
As I was there with a young friend (a rock trainee) we decided to go up and get stuff signed after the show. I had swiped the running list from the sound desk (the setlist was already gone), so I got that signed, along with my jeans...yeah ok thats pretty fangirl of me, I know "Hey can you sign my leg?" *attractive but red and sweaty girl flops knee onto table in front of rockstar and points to thigh*... They had a small rip in the knee so I probably won't wear them much and I was there with an excited teen so I thought "Why not?". Plus I love those jeans, and it gives me a good reason to keep them
We got a kiss and a hug from Jon and Karl, which was cool at the time, except now I'm coming down witth a cold or something. I probably caught it off Jon's face, from someone else he kissed. Ew. (BTW for the girls - Jons skin is so soft. It's like he doesn't grow facial hair at all. Silky). They seem like really nice guys. Tired, but then you would expect that after such a rockin show.
In Pearl Jam news:
I'm starting to get over missing out on PJ bcos I didn't renew my passport. Danan made me listen to the bootlegs of the Melbourne shows I should have seen with a slideshow of photos from each concert. It was both fun and sad (pissed off my flatmates) but I've been on a PJ hiatus since then to get over it. Maybe next week I'll ween myself back on track. I really need to listen to the Avo album again.

I was standing at the back next the sound desk. Still sounds good there. Don't worry I've had more fare share of moshpits so I'm not a nanna. I was jumping around a bit. But last time I saw the Had at Town Hall I broke my glasses in the pit. This time I didn't feel like getting crushed. Plus I wanted to observe the bands from afar. Jon's a real cool guy. So's Christian Datsun. Kinda funny how this gig has bought the kiwi thread back to life even though it's not even related to Pearl Jam.0 -

bazzer wrote:I guess I got lucky then! I was also trying to sell tickets outside but for Melbourne 3. I ended up selling them for $75 a piece so I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that. I mean after scoring last minute front row seats from teh box office, even the box office lady didn't seem to mind me standing next to their window trying to offload my Row Ms.
Sorry, could you talk us through how you ended up with those front row tickets again?Wellington 26/2/98

Hi All,
We are still looking for a drummer for our PJ Covers/Tribute band. If you think you can help us out check out my thread in the Musicians and Gearheads section or email me at paul23@actrix.co.nz.
We are ready to hit the practice rooms and start jamming on some songs with the hopes of gigging in the not to distant future.
Cheers, and sorry about the random post

last time i spoke to karl k. was moments before pj came on stage at queens wharf in '98. i found out afterwards they would have played support but they were too expensive (!) - imagine that - pj & shihad double bill in welli.
maybe someones mentioned this already but i can't be arsed reading this entire thread.
just add me to the (hopefully ever-growing) list of nz fans.
they'd better not pass us by a third time. once was painful. twice was just plain insulting. what did we do that they don't love us anymore, huh???0 -

Does anyone have Rialto channel on Sky? I think Jools Holland with PJ was on a couple of weeks ago but I missed it, bummer!0 -

oh really? darn. i can never keep track of which series they're showing. they'll replay it for sure. failing that it's all on youtube (of course), although i do realise that it's not the same as watching 'em on the telly.0 -
okay, at the risk of repeating myself (and everyone), but just because i have to say it or i'll bust, - so, like, pj don't play here coz they can't get a seated venue. but, wait, are any of these european feastivals seated?! i f**kin doubt it. i really hate it when people are inconsistent. and i really hate getting emails from 10C offering me tickets to shows on the other side of the frickkin world. well, today i hate it. i'll be over it by tomorrow i guess. vent ends here.0

(now i'm just annoyed at all the whinging yanks that expect another tour this year and are being petulant about not getting one...someone teach these people some patience PLEASE...they just HAD a tour, didn't they?)0 -
I think Vector is going to be finished sometime this year. In time for the relocated netball world champs. So maybe by the time the next tour rolls around they will actually play here. Would be great if it was a 3 night stint. Me and Dean are gonna make a HUGE sign that says "THE WAITING DROVE ME MAD".0

Bloody oath we are.
Man, I reckon I would throw up violently if I had to attend a Supernova concert. I reckon Tool will play there later in the year (heard on good word) and Chilis might in April as well. Its been 8 years, but I still believe...PJ in NZ 06!
