I want to get in my car and drive
Drive away from here
I want to get in my car and speed
Speed to something new
I want to leave it all behind
Behind and start a life
I want to move away from here
Here is not what I call home
I want to shut the door on the past
Past becomes buried in my mind
I want to become what I am
I am what I will be soon
I want to know that life is mine
Mine for me to live
I want to be free from thoughts
Thoughts that keep me down
I want to know what it’s like to have
Have and keep as my own
I want a promise to stick to truth
Truth as it is said
I want to believe what others say
Say and always do
I want to know what it is like
Like for me to see into another life
I want to keep the ones
Ones I hold to be dear
I want to bring them along
Along on this new life I’ll make
I want these things that lift me up
Up and never let me down
I want a heart that is accepting
Accepting of what needs to be
I want to stop avoiding
Avoiding is what I do
I want it all and never less
Less is never more
I want to live for myself
Myself, and my choices alone
I want to be content alone
Alone so I can be loved
I want to have pride within
Within this heart of mine
I want to see myself a new
A new stronger life
