So much is happening
And I like to take it slow
Reliving my life here
I can’t seem to let it go
The door will close soon enough
And I will say goodbye
But once my new door opens
Maybe we can try
A friendship would be nice
But I don’t think you can
Thinking back to our past
Maybe you can remember when
End of September seem to be
When the closing takes place
I wonder if you’ll be there for me
Or will you allow me space
Our home will be left
Empty as the shell
Of what was our marriage was
That sweet living hell
You asked for all the copies
Of our photographed past
Makes me wonder what you think
And will it seem to last
When we speak, your harshness fades
And in your voice I hear
What I considered to be my love
And what I held so dear
Once I move you will have
This house all alone
It makes me wonder to myself
If you will call it home
It was a burden and still may be
But someone’s going to reside
Between these walls, behind these doors
With in the great divide
Will you live here, breathe me in
Know what we once were
Or will you leave it empty now
And continue living with her
A mother’s love goes too far
When she consistently criticizes you
Making me fear for your steps
And the creation of something new
Please move in when I leave
And start this new fresh life
Then I will be on my own
And no longer be your wife.
