I don't want you, never had you
But I do miss you
You belonged to me.
Time pushed on too far
Too fast
One morning I awoke and you were just gone.
Not from my bed, you never were there
But from my life you were removed
Plucked like so many flowers
Do you remember the flowers?
Like us for each other, they were not ours
But we took them
In mornings first light we stole them.
If I had known then what I can see now
I would have eaten them, every last one
To keep them.
To keep you.
So many great memories formed
Centered around you
Around us
Around the us that was, but mostly the us that wasn't
Now such a canyon exists, it could never be crossed.
Our lives, so full of the things that aren't you and I
I don't get to find out where we went
I can't want you, won't have you
But I'll always miss you
And in my dreams
You still
Belong to me.
But I do miss you
You belonged to me.

Belong to me.
Stop following me, I do not know where I am going.

"Hear me, my chiefs!
I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."
Chief Joseph - Nez Perce
Some feelings never go away.
ty for this beautiful poetry
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
