Letting Go of the Reins

I try to dance upon your senses
take flight within your soul
while mindful to tread carefully
as I make myself at home

I don’t want to take this lightly
you’re to savor, like good wine
I feel that you are fragile
I should really take my time

But sweetheart it’s so difficult
when I have so much to say
and my fondness it grows stronger
with the passing of each day

I want this thing between us
to go on and on through time
but won’t pin you down or tie you up
or label you as mine

So I humbly hand to you the reins
(your self control is great)
