How My Tongue Ran Away With My Voice

When Tongue is still
(a rare occurrence)
Voice speaks out with strength

But no one hears it
(I discourage it)
Voice hides herself in pain

When Tongue is loose
with no clear conscience
my words go on in length

Tongue finds it's place
inside my face
and talks away in vain

Voice is in danger, a silent stranger
someone that you can't see
Voice is a whimper, Voice is a whisper
no one can hear but me

But she lives and she feels
that our world is unreal
If you see, and accept,
then you know she's bereft

She's got no hearing left...
...because she's being talked to death

Before her life has long since passed
I hope she finds herself at last
It's my dream that we're reunited
when our goals aren't so divided

She's a singer and a rock star
me, I live under a rock
I sometimes wish my Tongue and Voice
had both been born of the same stock
