So, I was up in the loft of my house this evening, having some smokes and drinks with my housemates and I popped on some PJ. At this point there was just me and my buddy Thomas chatting. Conversation stopped and we took in the last solo of Life Wasted and the first half of WWS. The conversation then went as such.

Tom:Who's this?
Luke: Pearl Jam
Tom: Oh right on...is this from the 80's?
Luke: Uh, no man, this came out 2 years ago.
Tom:No way. Are you kidding?
Luke: No man, this came out in 2006.
Tom:Huh...well it's pretty kickass anyway.

Strange man I thought(have always thought actually)...but maybe that's just me.

Yeah no offense to your friend but Avocado is actually quite current in its style.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

usually people think that Riot Act had a 80's feel to it.

    intresting.

Hmmm.. Well World Wide Suicide, Unemployable, Gone, and Inside Job have a bit of an 80s vibe going for them.. Life Wasted is totaly current though. The rest of the album has a 90s vibe.

i think unempoyable has more of a mid 70's Kiss vibe going myself. lol.

it all depends on the ear i guess.
