Any ideas as to why no Betterman?

Personally, I think Eddie's setlist for his solo tour was beautifully picked out, a really great selection of songs in there, and just by reading it, you can get a vibe of how he wanted the shows to be I think. But I thought for sure there he would have thrown in Betterman for at least a few show...I'm just curious as to what you guys think the reasoning is or just thoughts on why the setlist was the way it was in general.

Here's to many more solo tours to come, and MANY more PJ tours.

Betterman sounds much better with a full band backing him up... the song has sort of a climax when the "memories back when..." line kicks in... I kind of think that solo the song would possibly fall flat... but that's just me.

i was kinda surprised he didnt do it with bad radio at one of the 2 SD shows.
And he still gives his love, he just gives it away, The love he receives is the love that is saved, And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky, A human being that was given to fly

Besides Porch, it was pretty obvious that Ed didn't want to do any Pearl Jam songs that might be considered a hit.

He wanted these things to be as far removed from the Pearl Jam experience as possible and play some songs he doesn't often get to play in the context of the whole band.

    And I'm not surprised.

I would actually have been more shocked if he played Betterman than Bugs at these shows.

Playing it would have really fired up the drunk dudes yelling the whole show, and after playing it every show with the band---I can't say I blame him if he wanted to shelve it for this tour.

You obviously haven't heard him play it solo at Bridge '04. It hardly falls flat.

i was a little surprised at the lack of the who songs....my dream was naked eye. i was close in santa barbara, and everything in my body said if i yelled it out we would get it......and then after that brief crazy moment, i held my tongue and realized how close i came to being that guy......and enjoyed one of the best shows i've ever seen. let my love open the door would have been sweet.....anyways, i'm rambling about nothing this post was started on. sorry.

No I've heard it... it's good don't get me wrong, but I prefer the full band version.
