doesn't matter

As our eyes met
we instantly connect-
ed a future kingdom where we’d rule side by side, our love in the annuls of history

And with each new day
we will script one new page
dedicating our novel to the perils fought and the ill trodden soldier

To no longer be one
together we will become
unity, strong and proud, unity high above the ground

Oh, if she only knew
what this king has been through
a lost crusade leaving him weak and weary, barely a shell of what he once was

And what she gains
is all that remains
a shadowy figure of a once strong empire beaten down to its ruins

Oh if she knew
what once here grew
ideas, the cash crop of a metropolis solely funded through its agriculture

But it doesn't matter
oh no!! it doesn't matter
time is gone, in the past future is long, her hands ripped and stripped it away

But it doesn't matter
oh no it doesn't matter
skeletal remains of a king with his cardboard crown sitting upon his folding chair throne

If it only mattered
why can’t it matter
days are long, life is short,he didn't see it until the end, and her? not even then

So what she gained
was not much more then the same
memories that she already has, memories where she suppresses the bad

Oh, what to do?
If we only knew...
I scream in affirmation
of connecting dislocations
and exceeding limitations
by achieving levitation
