Looking for an agent

Hello to all...

I am in the process of looking for an agent to represent my new novel, Seasons of Myth. First, a little background...Though I am not a big poster here on the message pit, I do from time to time interject an opinion, and I'm always glad for the discourse (especially when it relates to my favorite band!). It's a welcome relief from the rest of the day. I'm a UPS driver by day and a fledgling fiction writer by night. Of course, my loyalties lie less with delivering packages (especially this time of year) and more with writing. I dabbled in creative writing classes at the University of Oregon and settled on an English major instead. In the years since I finished school I have completed three novels, and for the last three years I've been working on Seasons of Myth. It is, as you might imagine (considering the forum in which I am placing this) a story very much concerned with music.

My novel tells the story of The Loud Silence, a rock band which comes into its own in the early years of the Vietnam War. A tragedy befalls the band, and all three members end up enlisting; two do not return. The dramatic arc of the story centers on the surviving member of the band, Gus Stills, who returns to a country that has moved past him, to a girlfriend who has born his child, and to a musical legacy he would--and does, forget. Flashbacks to the flamboyant and earnest 70's music scene combine with a vivid depiction of the Seattle scene of the early 90's, where Gus comes to rediscover his lost gift vicariously through the life of his son Jack, who comes into his own musical prowess without the help of his absent father. And throughout are mythic recollections of a war which exists for Gus as a sort of fever dream, one which breathes with a pulse of rock and roll.

I have sent out two waves of unsuccessful query letters, and though I plan to continue with that process, I am also interested in finding an agent who shares my passion for rock music. Any feedback is welcomed, and if there does happen to be an agent on here with any interest in reading my work, thank you in advance. Jesse Wendel
