Sun of Albion

Upon this land
where the bridge has fallen
upon this land
where the axe is buried
A wind from the East did blow my father
Away, away
where the sun did greet him

And history shall blossom
it's shape and it's colour
and history shall gather
what the wind shall scatter
All patterns carved and sung
and Sung in their carving
In Englands green and pleasant land

A new son was born
where the sun did greet him
A new son shall rise
and that new son shall kill him

Steve, have you ever checked out Mercian Hymns, by Geoffrey Hill? I think you'd like it. It's a masterwork, in my opinion.

I've not heard of that. I'll check it out. Cheers!
  • Good stuff very. I like muchly. Me grammar plenty good.
"this one, anytime I say love if you wanna say love, uh, say it, and if you say it you might as well say it loud, and if you don't feel like sayin' it, don't say it, but if you feel it, certainly say it..."

NOTE: Everything I write in the P,P&M section are intended to be songs, not poetry.
