OK Hotel Pennsylvania NYC

Just booked a room across from MSG for 6/24 AAA rate w/ parking for 277.00. Taxes included. Looked around and you will NOT find anything cheaper. Not the "best" hotel in NYC by any means, but the chains in Times Square are over $400 a night.

They have a great CX policy. 24 hours before check in with NO PENALTY so if you want a room I would grab one NOW! You can always cancel.

Good luck and if they add another date I hope to be able to add a night!

I usually park around the corner from MSG and it costs at least $50 - $60 dollars, that's for one night alone.

Looking to make this special, only live about 40 minutes away with no traffic. No traffic being the key words here. By the time I pay for parking, gas and tolls I figure a night over in the big city can't hurt!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

$277 is a great price. And you couldn't be closer to MSG. As far as traffic is concerned, you will just have to get a "stomach ache" and leave work early.

Hehe, I will keep going back to check prices. They did not offer any "standard rooms" which are about $129 a night. it is still the cheapest around.

2003 NYC was still recovering from 911 and the hotel itself has had an upgrade or renovation or whatever.

Hey, bf doesn't sound too happy about my plan so I may cx anyway. I'm the one that does the driving and I hate driving in the city and driving to the city in rush hour.
I wear the pants in this situation so he will just have to deal.

The SOFITEL just off of Time Square (okay, its a few blocks) is in plenty easy walking distance to MSG and back (assuming you aren't shit stunk drunk and stoned) ... and the prices i have always found to be VERY cheap, comparitively.

Great prices for the level of accomodation, and good location.

    :D

I will probably not be able to make it back to Grand Central for last train.

yea, that's always tricky. but you could still stay at a hotel and not have to deal with driving and paying for parking.

    me too! :)
probably just yet another reason why i LOVE shows at MSG: i live walking distance to my nearest train station, ride on in the LIRR (hubby and i both have monthly passes too since we work in manhattan, so won't even cost us more) and then RIGHT up the stairs at penn and you're *AT* MSG! perfection! certainly into partying in the city with fellow fans whenever, wherever, for however long...but no need for a hotel. we'll save that splurge hopefully for the DC show. :)
    Stay with me...

I stayed at the same hotel in 06 and though it was like $120 a night??? I could be wrong but almost certain that's what I paid.

    my Mom stayed there
    I liked the hotel
and yeah you can't beat the location.

It's really crowded over there by 34th street though
the eating options over there aren't the greatest, its all overpriced fast food.
The Nathan's is pretty sweet though!

In the summer the rates probably go up?

Drive to Hamilton, NJ (Exit 65A) . 16.50 RT to Penn Station and back . Party afterwards . Home on AM train. Sleep in own bed. Get up . Travel to NJ. Do it all again. PRICELESS!! OR, get room at Bowery Whitehouse , close to Bleeker St. Music and subway. CHEAP digs.

i was thinking of doing something like that - getting a cheaper room downtown somewhere to save a few bucks. we'll see.
