Ship Adrift

Of all the times I've tried to write
Never has it been harder;
Never the words farther away.
I spent my life learning from a man
Who always learned a time ahead.
Turning, turning, page by page we turned
Learning, learning, always so much to learn
But I, standing here without you
To steer me clear
Of all the colors in a tear,
God, I fear!

My ship is now adrift
No course to stern nor bow
I ask my self aloud
Who do I turn to ask,
Who do I learn from now?

I know I should be happy.
I guess you'd like it that way.
But I look around and just
want to turn away....to yesterday...
Maybe a few more days......
"To live,.... love,..... there's a song to be sung,....
'cause we may not be the Young Ones,..."

--first u sow the seed-- nature grows the seed-- then we eat the seed-- ;) nah,... we smoke it!
