Calm Maiden

I’m deep
So far from the rays
The darkening depths
Rolling clouds of waves

Ear splitting
Chest caving
Thoughts continue to fall

Mind racing
Eyes bulging
Thoughts continue to fall
Fall

The pressure builds
A wish for a breath
To begin the ascent

So far below
This calm maiden
Squeezing hope slowly away

    Its funny you say that because I wrote after I watched Step In To Liquid the other day and I was thinking about when Mark Foo Died at Mavericks.

    You gotta jump back in the water. Every surfer has the experience of almost dying. When you're getting tossed around it seems like forever, but there is nothing like the feeling of sliding down the wave and making that great bottom turn.
