The wind blows
The cold air chills me to the bone
Yet I am at peace
For I know that this too will pass

There is warmth on the horizon
A glow in the far east
It is not the day
But the time for change

We are harnessed, harassed
Treated like subjects
We are not the free
We are not under the eyes of liberty
We are a target

We are in the crosshairs
Of the white collar’s aim
We must open our eyes
Open our minds

There can be democratic equilibrium
A Republic of I Cans
An independent integration
To stop this economic segregation
