Hey there, first time posting but been a LONG time PJ fan - back in the day of tape trading! Can't wait to see em in Chicago! They were a HUGE influence on my artwork when I was a teenager (and even still today - tho I see and read into the lyrics a bit differently I think).

Anyways this is a painting I did when I was 16. I think it is based off a photo of eddie sitting under a stairwell or something. Some of you I'm sure have seen that photo actually...

Anyways it's a 6x8 Oil on Canvas, and one of my first oil paintings I've ever done. Thought I would share! Hope you enjoy!

    Its hard not to be impressed by art. :)
    I like how the green and black define the painting and of course the white, blue, and red is fascinating....kinda of like...why there?
    is eddie v. posing....he seems emotionless in the painting....very statue like...stoic.
    I need to finish writing.

    I wouldn't say he was posing, but i'm sure it was during a shoot...perhaps a sort of candid moment in the shoot? I'd have to go back and find/look at the photo (if I can even find it) but i believe it was a sepia tone -

    Thanks I'm glad you like it. I feel like I need to start painting again, because it's been a long time, and I have not painting in this style for sometime, but I'd like to go back to it I think....HS I painted much darker, college I used more bright/color and contrasts...but I feel the need to go back to the dark days...

    ...why do you feel that you have to go back to the black days...can you combine both....some sort of middle ground...kind of self-balance what you're feeling...

    yes, your right....it would def. not be back in the dark days..i'm not a rebellious dark teenager anymore lol, but I JUST need to paint again....I'm so swamped w/ other projects (photography & design mostly) that I have not set enough time aside to paint...it used to be my outlet from the world...relieve stress, tell stories and so on....

    But again, your right, I don't know why i feel the need to go back to that time...its more like the STYLE of the artwork than the COLORS I suppose....

    Ironically, this one's smaller than the other sample...but the actual SIZE is over 10 foot wide, and 8 foot tall....another oil on canvas...

    I guess there is a way to meet in the middle! :) THANKS!
