April Showers

Smiling on the outside but damn near dead within
Can feel my brain deteriorate and wheels no longer spin
The way they always used to now they’re working overtime
Just to wake up in the morning and get to work on time

We talk of all the telling signs and sign the dotted lines
If only for one moment I could finally grow a spine
To say all that I wanted and finally speak my mind
They wont dig the dug up digs I dug or that I unmasked the lies.

Hopefully my faith in this race will eventually restore
I used to have love for people but that was long before
Long before the people showed me how heartless they can be
And heartless love the thoughtless ‘cause they can always train a sheep

The rain is the only break I get between the hells
It completely drains my memory and traps me under spells
“keep your eyes upon me” and I never hesitate
I must have met the rain through some sort of fate

It cleanses my soul but the lightning has been known to strike
And always in the same place these scars are never slight.
Cant blame the rain ‘cause with a drought I could not survive
I would pray the lightning strike once more and take away my life

    Very nice. :)
