And there are
all the calls I never
return
with the future
as close as the stars.
Some night
in the fog dew drenched
cold and seperated
from the words
I remember times
before the feet
had filled the shoes
potentials lost at anothers
harsh words
paths crumbled before the sentence
was finished
just didn't know
how not to believe.
Now seperated by circumstance
and choice a family of strangers
connected in blood shed
and genetics.
Our conversations
sound like dry ice
on the tip
of a tongue.
No one dare utters
what we all know.
So much distance and time
to forget
so many nights left
to remember.
Pissed most of them away
with pills and pain
still reeling from the spinning earth
days and nights
separate
the same.
Couldn't break it free
though the shoes
are filled.
Another lie
Another truth
somehow the same.
Another foothold...
lost.
