i just felt a sudden spurt of enthusiasm to post this... it's kinda long i know.

MIRROR

in an attic of dust i found a mirror
that reflected nothing of me
but as i gazed in to its image
it showed a world of what to be
so i held the mirror to my eyes
to discover more of what's inside
it pulled me through its world
and took me in its hide

a place where to discuss a flower
is to shed tears that blossom a garden
in which youth is spent on living
to gain old age its wisdom

since the mirror could not be owned
i let go and watch it disappear
in to the sky where it learned life
and returned, it seemed after years
to a window at once it led me
to view the world that we both know
and depart from the image we see
and fly through circles of gold

to where flesh combines with fruit
of an apple we share together
where flames don't dance for heat
but live to burn for better

and of what is important to me
is not a reflection of gone
but of this which is shown today
from which birds deliver their song
and to this mirror i give my life
to be filled with drops of dew
from leaves of countless virtues
planted and reflectd as you

in a place that has no time
in which we live forever
where two mirrors face each other
and share a world of dreams together
drifting around, figuring it out as i go along...

I'm glad you got the urge to post this poem. It's very powerful. thanks for sharing.
  • yeildjames, this is gorgeous!!! Just gorgeous!!! :) "Through the looking glass"...I've always liked the idea of another world existing inside that reflective glass and the world you painted here was exquisite!

"to where flesh combines with fruit
of an apple we share together
where flames don't dance for heat
but live to burn for better"

Mmm, just WOW! :) Here's hoping for more spurts of entusiasm!

reading this gave me chills and goosebumps.
which is this case mean, fear not, that I was very very impressed with it. :)
not too many things manage to give me that kind of chills, mostly singers with amazing voices.

very good work yieldjames, and not too long at all. :) I too hope that in the future you'll be having these "spurs" you mentioned more often.
    thank you for sharing! :)

    real good, go on

I liked this part as well
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
