Here Comes Your Man

You asked for the past inside of me
Never fearing the hurt
So here comes your man
With markings of being burnt

A father of the dice
Willing to jeopardize it all
While his family stayed at home
His newborn learning to crawl

Wife rolling for baby food
Ratted jeans walking out the door
Only keeping me sane
Music scattered on the floor

And I feel it more then ever
The memories of the past
How it affected my life
The shadows it casts

Bruises still surfacing
From power I never had
One step behind
Never the current fad

Tormented and teased
“Are you the next killer?”
A bad horror movie
Open another Miller

You asked for the past inside of me
Never fearing the hurt
So here comes your man
With markings of being burnt
Adolescence in essence is all about trust.
Leaving is for the answering machine.

This is sad and reminds me of someone bearing their soul expecting to get rejected, like the wrongs they have done are the worst ever. This one makes me think to them that no one can go back in time and do things differently, when you screw up no matter how badly, you can only learn from it and try not to do it again. You may always have regrets about that and wish you had done things differently but now you have knowledge and decide on what your future holds. No matter how far down a person goes they are still very worthy of love and second chances but they have to recognize it and believe it and do what it takes to change, making peace with who they were and loving who they can become. We allow shadows to engulf us but they don't belong there, sometimes it takes work and faith to see them for what they are and what we allow them to do to us. I really hope this person can let his shadows stay behind him. Good read! :)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

Reminds me of a quote I once told aloud to my father. It's from Oscar Wilde:

    Children begin by loving their parents; as they grow older, they judge them;
    sometimes they forgive them"
    Feels Good Inc.

    always loved that one
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
