Field Of Dreams

She said "Common let's go"
"Into my field of dreams"
I did not know
It would be filled with screams

Filled with tears
Time to let go
I did not leave
I didn't bother to show

Go on a trip
My worries left behind
There's no way to describe
There's no other kind

She said "Common let's go"
"Into my field of dreams"
I did not know
It would be full of screams

How do you do it?
I get away from it all
Some people wonder
Does she ever fall?

I said "Common let's go"
"Into my field of dreams"
"I promise to you this time"
"There will be no screams"

    nice one coachie! :)
I really like this, well written.
"Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."

I wish I could say I was talented enough to put myself in someone's shoes who fought in the war and then put it all into words. This poem however was inspired by a girl who was just sexually abused by her father. We went out into an open field, her "field of dreams" where she just let out all her anger and emotion onto me. Quite a powerfull moment. I always wished I could have captured it a little better...
