In my search for the words
to give you this day
the thoughts bring forth memories
of depts to repay

You touched me with eyes
so strong and so clear
and soon I was to learn
there was nothing to fear

For with this new year
came a respected friend
in whom I can trust
and always defend

You helped me with problems
when I was feeling so low
and I thought it was time
that now you should know

That tho I may tease you
somethings I can't hide
and when I say "you're my friend"
