Where were you?

Where were you
when I was hurt and helpless
I was at your bedside
trying to confess

And where were you
when I was burned and broken
I need some answers
show me a token

A new seed is planted
a petal is blowing away
with all this
comes a new day

Enjoy your time
I've found the lost trail
confused before
reading braile

So tell me

Where were you
when I was hurt and helpless
I was at your bedside
trying to confess
Adolescence in essence is all about trust.
Leaving is for the answering machine.

  • And, not just because it was written by a Canuck! For what it matters, it personally hit home for me. I took my own interpretation away from it. Don't know what experiences you were drawing from, but I have a few who were missing myself.
"The legacy of Surrealism after 1968 must surely follow artists, writers, thinkers and activists who are committed to the power of the unconscious and to the imagination of other possible worlds."
