He still recalls the taste
of his tears.

Buried in an ant hill;
Dipped in sweet honey
his skin crawling-
Senses extreme.

Darkness covers his
world blank,
no images of peace.
Running in a field of desperation.

Billboard smiling faces.
There is an accident up ahead.
Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.

  • I wrote this poem driving home, which I might add is an act I really should not do.
    Warning: Children do not do this act, death or serious injury may occure.
    Anyways, I was writing the poem when I noticed this billboard (a realtor sign) with this big cheesy smiling face of a woman. As a result, I looked down to write about the billboard, looking up just in time to slow down for an accident that luckily I was not involved in
