GOD’S GIFT

Her beauty shines like the Harvest Moon
Her innocence is the love she grows
With tears in my eyes, I kneel by her side
Unconditional love floating in the night air
Brushing back her satin brown hair
I will never leave you, I whisper in her little ear

Pictures float through my head, like a
message in a bottle, lost in an endless sea of
dreams

The first touch of grass, beneath her feet
leaving her dazed in wonderment
O what a beautiful place this must be
If only I could bring back the
innocent passions,
I held in yesterday’s years

As time stands motionless, I kiss
her on the forehead good night
Not wanting to wake her from her peaceful dreams
Dream well, I say, wiping a tear from my eye
No monsters!
I will protect you with my life

She opens her chocolate brown eye’s
saying daddy good night, please
lay by my side, I will protect you
tonight
Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.

Beautiful! This one brought tears to my eyes and made me think of my children...I love this one! :)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
  • Poetry is best,
    From the heart. . .

You draw a beautiful picture with your words...

    I think of you all,
bringing a smile to my lips
    In the brief moment
    of all this "evil shit!"

  • I honestly cannot wait
    until I get home from
    work. This website
    has become extremely
    important to me.
I am thinking about it all day.
    I even brainstorm ideas,
    throughout the day, for possible
    poems.

I will leave you this paraphrase
    from a Neil Young interview
that pretty much sums’ up the way I felt
after my FIRST PJ concert, on May 19, 2006!

You go to see a concert and you’re touched.
You don’t know when it happened or why
it happened. You leave and start thinking
about things differently . . . (Neil Young)
