Waking before the rooster at 4:45 a.m.
he gets up from the safty of his bed.

Dragging his ass to the shower
he turns the water on.
Stepping into the stream
he washes his sleep away.

Drinking his morning coffee.
Smoking his morning cigarette,
he grudgingly walks out the doorway.

He drives the same boring route,
to his same boring job,
in his same boring life.

He thinks of the life
he as only dreamed of.
Learning, sharing, teaching-
these are the things he wants.

rusting in the pasture,
long since forgotten-
