A Dream Come True:Forty-one Experiences

As she walks by me on a busy street,
I can sense her presence,
Though I cannot see her speak.
As I open the door to my car,
She gets in from the other side.

Driving down a country road
She takes my hand to hold.
Pulling the car over,
I get out with her by my side.

Chasing each other barefoot
Through a field of corn.
I stop and realize, “I love her.”
From this day forward..

Falling on the ground
In a loving embrace.
We gaze into the sun
Momentarily blinded by it’s rays.

Closing my eyes,
Shielding them from the sun.
Feeling her warm breath
In all the words she says

Holding back a tear
In my clenched eyes.
making an oath
To keep them closed,
So that she will never go.
Can't you see that there's light in the dark.
Nothing's quite what it seems in the city of dreams.

  • :) Love it! I was especially drawn to these lines:

    "Chasing each other barefoot
    Through a field of corn.
I stop and realize, “I love her.”
    From this day forward.." :)
